The Epiphone EJ-200 Coupe is a scaled down, coupe-sized version of the legendary Gibson J-200 Jumbo acoustic guitar. Designed for players who love the classic J-200 style jumbo guitar, but desire a more compact and comfortable playing experience.
Epiphone have opted to use a combination of select ovangkol for the back and sides of the guitar's body and paired it with a solid Sikta spruce top. Though smaller in size than a jumbo sized body, the EJ200 Coupe still delivers warm tone with good amounts of projection, that not only please heavy strummers but also those who like to play fingerstyle.
Married to the body is a hard maple neck (with a walnut centre stringer) that has been shaped into round, SlimTaper C profile. Topping the neck is pau ferro fingerboard set with 20 frets and dot inlays, complemented by a crown 12"fret inlay.
Factory fitted with a Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup paired with a Fishman Presys II preamp system, the EJ-200 coupe works wonderfully as a gigging guitar or as a studio tool. The preamp has controls for Volume, Bass. Treble, a Phase switch and a handy built-in tuner.
Other appointments include a bone nut, a compensated bone saddle, and rock solid Grover rotomatic 18:1 tuning machines.
