With this Fender Player Fretless Jazz Bass you'll get access to those much loved fretless tones, with the style and great playability that Jazz Basses are known for.
The Jazz Bass is one of the bass world's most iconic bass guitars, used by legendary bass players (including a certain Mr Jaco Pastorius) over the years, and without a doubt, for years to come! The fretless Jazz Bass takes that classic model, removes the frets and gives players acces to upright-esque tones and that good ol "mwah' that only a fretless can make!
Fender have treated the Player Fretless Jazz Bass to a pair of traditional Player Series single coil pickups. Wired through a simple 3-way control section, with volumes for each pickup and a master tone control, you have instant access to all those classic Jazz Bass tones. Get warmth and punch from the neck pickup and growl, bark and mid honk from the bridge pickup, then combine the two via each pickups volume control for added tonal versatility.
Construction wise, the Fender Player Jazz Bass utilizes an alder body that is complimented with a classic style scratchplate. The highly playable maple neck has a comfortable modern C shape profile and is topped with 9.5" radius fingerboard.
Other features include the 4-saddle bridge and open-gear chrome tuners, for solid tuning stability, and a vintage style 50s spaghetti Fender logo on the headstock.
Thanks to its affordable price point the Fender Player Jazz Bass opens the door for players to get some of fretless tones into their bass vocabulary without breaking the bank.
