The left handed Gibson SG Standard takes its inspiration and design principles from the highly sought after late 60s era. Featuring a host of period correct appointments, those iconic double cutaway looks and a sound to match, the SG Standard is an SG guitar suitable for any generation!
The SG Standard boasts a traditional solid mahogany body finished, which Gibson have treated to a Satin Nitrocellulose Lacquer, and topped it with a large black 5-ply Full Face pick guard.
In true SG style, the double cutaway body is married to a solid mahogany neck that has been carved into rounded profile. The neck is then topped with a rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius and hosts 22 medium jumbo frets and trapezoid inlays. The 24.75" scale, 1.695" (43.05mm) nut width, and Grover Rotomatics with Kidney Buttons complete the traditional feel and look.
The pair of humbuckers come in the form of a 490R in the neck position and a 490T in the bridge position, both of which are loaded with Alnico II magnets. The pickups are wired through the traditional 3-way pickup selector and 4 knob configuration - 2 x volume and 2 x tone. Combined, this classic setup gives you access to those classic SG tones, full of snarling power, sustain and SG growl.
Other appointments include the Aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic with stopbar tailpiece, and black top hat knobs and a Graph Tech nut.
The package comes complete with a Gibson soft shell case.
