Fender Nate Mendel P Bass 'Road Worn' - Candy Apple Red
The Fender Nate Mendel P-Bass features a Roadworn Lacquer finish and is based on the Foo Fighters' bass player's own '71 P-Bass.
The Fender Nate Mendel P-Bass is a signature model based on the long-time Foo Fighters' bass player's own beloved, battle-worn Precision Bass.
Formed in the mid '90s, the Foo Fighters have become one of the most revered and influential heavy rock bands of all time. One of the founding members, Nate Mendel, has always favoured a 1971 Fender Precision Bass to deliver his characteristic heavy, yet melodic sound. Together with Mendel, Fender have now developed the Fender Nate Mendel P-Bass as a tribute to his longstanding love for the instrument.
The Nate Mendel P-Bass features a specially contoured Ash body that has been given a light Roadworn lacquer finish. This gives the bass the 'broken in' feel of an instrument that has been played and loved for a number of years.
The body is home to a 3-ply black scratchplate containing a powerful Seymour Duncan Basslines Quarter Pounder split single coil pickup. This is wired through the traditional master volume and master tone controls to deliver a huge, powerful tone.
The Roadworn lacquer finished maple neck features a slim profile based on Mendel's own '71 P-Bass. This is capped with a 7.25" radius Rosewood fretboard and fitted with 20 medium jumbo frets.
The headstock is home to a set of Fender '70's Vintage-style Stamped, open gear tuners and features Mendel's signature on its rear.
Hardware is all chrome and, like the body and neck, is given the Roadworn treatment. The high mass Fender bridge adds sustain and power making for a hard hitting, punchy sounding instrument.
