Get classic looks and legendary tone with the Fender Player Jazz Bass. The Player Jazz Bass takes over from the previous linchpin of Fender's Jazz Bass range, the Standard Jazz Bass, adding a welcome selection of improvements and upgrades.
The Jazz Bass is one of the world's most iconic bass guitars. Originally launched in the 1960s, the Jazz Bass has gone on to be utilized by an array of legendary bass players including Jaco Pastorius, Larry Graham, Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee to name but a few.
Fender have treated the Player Jazz Bass to a pair of traditional Player Series single coil pickups. Wired through a simple 3-way control section, with volumes for each pickup and a master tone control, you have instant access to all those classic Jazz Bass tones. Get warmth and punch from the neck pickup and growl, bark and mid honk from the bridge pickup, then combine the two via each pickups volume control for added tonal versatility.
Construction wise, the Fender Player Jazz Bass utilizes an alder body that is complimented with a classic style scratchplate. The highly playable maple neck has a comfortable modern C shape profile and is topped with 9.5" radius fingerboard set with 20 medium jumbo frets.
Other features include the 4-saddle bridge and open-gear chrome tuners, for solid tuning stability, and a vintage style 50s spaghetti Fender logo on the headstock.
Thanks to its affordable price point the Fender Player Jazz Bass opens the door for players to get some of that J Bass goodness, both in looks and sound, without breaking the bank.
