The left handed Fender Player Telecaster is an affordable version of the legendary instrument that combines the best of old and new. The Player Tele takes over from the previous linchpin of Fender's Tele range, the Standard Tele, adding a welcome selection of improvements and upgrades.
The Fender Tele is a true icon in the guitar world. One of the very first solidbody electric guitars, it was originally launched by a certain Mr Leo Fender in 1950, then went on to become the Telecaster in 1952. Finding favour with countless guitarists, able to cover a variety of genres and heard on a huge number of hits records, the Fender Tele is legend.
This incarnation of the Tele features has its roots placed firmly in the past. Its slab body with a single cutaway, is topped with the classic Tele shape pickguard and a pair of single coil pickups (new Player Series), wired through a 3-way selector switch, and single volume and tone controls.
The body is married to a Modern "C" shaped maple neck that is topped with a 9.5 radius fingerboard, both of which aid playability. The fingerboard hosts 22 medium jumbo frets and is set with dot inlays.
Sounds are classic Fender. The bridge pickup has a bright, edgy bite to it whilst the neck pickup delivers the sought after warm, bluesy sound loved by so many players.
Tuning is kept famously solid through the use of a modern string through body, 6 saddle bridge and a set of 6 high quality chrome machine heads on the 50s spaghetti style logo adorned headstock.
