The Taylor 514CE V-Class Grand Auditorium Electro Acoustic is a fine instrument that features Taylor's groundbreaking V-Class bracing, a Solid Western Red Cedar top and the Expression System 2 electronics.
The V-Class bracing is an all new concept developed by master guitar designer Andy Powers of Taylor guitars from the ground up. This game changing advancement builds the internal framework of the 514ce and as a result dictates the way the guitars top vibrates, vastly improving the sound by remaining both stiff enough to offer great sustain but flexible enough to produce excellent volume. In addition, V-bracing allows the top to keep in tune with the vibrating strings, thus allowing notes and chords played anywhere on the neck to be more consistent and in tune with each other. Breaking away from the tradition of X bracing the V bracing is a new platform to solve an old age issue with acoustic guitars.
The 514ce adopts Taylor's ever popular Grand Auditorium body shape, with the solid Tropical Mahogany back and sides complimented by a solid Western Red Cedar top. This combination of tone woods allows the 514ce to have excellent midrange presence as well as desirable warm overtones that only Cedar top can deliver. An ergonomic Venetian cutaway also features giving players easy access to the higher frets. A highly playable, comfy in the hand, Tropical Mahogany neck is topped with a West African Ebony fingerboard that is set with 20 frets and classy Century inlays.
Cementing the high quality, prestigious nature and reputation of Taylor's acoustic instruments are a host of high performance features that set the 514ce a league apart from many other acoustics available. These key appointments include a TUSQ Nut, a Mircarta Saddle, Taylor's premium die cast machine heads, a fully adjustable truss rod and of course Taylor's mighty Expression 2 electronics system, a system that allows the 514ce to deliver superb amplified acoustic tones.
With its unique tonewoods, groundbreaking V-Class bracing and legendary Taylor playability, the Taylor 514ce is a superb electro acoustic for players with versatile requirements, lending itself superbly well to fingerstyle players or those with a lighter touch, allowing the Cedar top to truly sing.
