New Fender Deluxe Range

The new Fender Deluxe range includes updated Strats and Teles as well as new Precision and Jazz basses.

The new made in Mexico 2016 Fender Deluxe range, take Fender's iconic instruments - the Strat, Tele, P and Jazz Bass, and treat them to a host of unique and contemporary upgrades. Get that classic Fender style with some welcome modern tweaks.

Six stand out models have been added to the Fender arsenal and most likely many people's wish lists. This special list is made up of the Fender Deluxe Stratocaster HSS, Fender Deluxe Nashville Tele, Fender Deluxe Stratocaster, Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster, Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass and Fender Deluxe P Bass Special.

One of the stand out models of this exciting 'Deluxe' range is the Fender Deluxe Stratocaster HSS. The HSS is a good way to introduce what this series is all about as it boasts your classic 70's inspired Strat body with the pre-CBS large headstock but at its core has many modern tweaks and additions. For starters the HSS comes with two noiseless Fender single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions and a non-traditional humbucker at the bridge, this means you have access to a variety of both classic strat tones as well as much fatter humbucker sounds, all hum free.

The Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster included in this impressive range again merges the retro with the modern. From the first glance you can spot the unconventional three pickup configuration that is made up of 2 Noiseless Tele pickups with a Noiseless Strat pickup in between, making this Tele a very unique and versatile option. A hybrid guitar that offers classic Tele twang to all out rocking leads with an upgraded versatile 5-way Strat-o-Tone pickup switch. What's not to like?

The 'Go to' guitar of the range could be considered as the Fender Deluxe Stratocaster. Like it's Deluxe siblings it features a more modern 12' radius fretboard for super comfortable fast playing feel and all noiseless single coil pickups for hum elimination. Fender have also included an advanced switching system in the form of a push-push switch in between the two tone controls. This small switch adds the bridge pickup to positions 4 and 5 on the pickup selector adding extra brightness and dynamic range to what would usually be quite dark sounds.

Although the Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster shares much the same specs as the rest of the Deluxe range it has a party trick up it's sleeve. Included is a V6 control within the tone knob that delivers six distinct onboard preamp tone settings. You can even rotate the V6 for access to a range of sounds, from wiry single-coil tones all the way to powerful leads. In conjunction with this feature, the Roadhouse also features an S1 switch discretely placed in the top of the master volume control. This allows complete bypass of the preamp to deliver classic pure Strat tones.

Now on to basses and the Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass is certainly something to get excited about. A thrilling versatile tonal workhorse that boasts both stand out vintage features as well as ultra modern noiseless pickups and a 3-band EQ system. This Jazz bass will give you the ability to cut through the mix, retain the low end punch and all with unwanted hum irradicated. The edge this instrument gives you doesn't end there either, you can expect a 3-band EQ that lets you cut and boost the bass, middle and treble frequencies for optimum tonal shaping. The Deluxe Jazz also includes upgrades such as active/passive switching to make it easy to access both vintage style or modern voices and a C shaped neck with a flatter than normal 12" radius.

Last but far from least is the Fender Deluxe P Bass Special. This Precision bass is ideal for any modern bassist, Fender have taken a classic instrument and then upgraded it to form a hybrid that is powered by a vintage style split-coil pickup and a Vintage Noiseless Jazz Bass single coil at the bridge position. You can achieve anything from classic warm tones to mid driven funk to grinding rock tones. Fender didn't rest on their laurels either when it came to the feel of this bass, changes include a fast and flat 12" radius, narrow 1.5" bone nut and 20 medium jumbo frets for modern performance.
