Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special - 3 Color Sunburst / Pau Ferro
The Classic Player Jaguar Special is a modern improvement on the original retro design, with contemporary accompaniments like two powerful Special Design hot single coil Jaguar pickups, an Adjusto-matic bridge with vintage style tremolo, special switching and circuitry, plus a host of other enhancements.
This Classic Player Jaguar Special, presented here in Arctic White, a modern take on an old icon, first manufactured in the 60s targeting surf musicians, the design went on to be popular with punk, early new wave and indie rockers due to the versatility of sound you can achieve through the advanced circuitry.
Here, the updated model boasts an Alder body, with a 9.5" radius 'C' shape neck made from Maple with a Pau Ferro fretboard. At it's core it has a wonderful tonal balance with the wood composition, offering smooth bass, punchy mids and piercing, expressive treble. This is further enhanced by the strength of the Special Design single coil Jaguar pickups, which are higher output with more bite than the original Jaguar pickups.
The non-tradition circuitry of the Classic Player Jaguar Special is special for a bunch of reasons. It features a dual-circuit setup, designed to allow both rhythm and lead style configurations of pickup blend and volume. The pickups can be switched on an off independently and topped off with a master 'kill' switch, the circuitry offers a vast scope for tonal versatility and interesting effects that can be achieved.
Other features and updates include a vintage style floating tremolo for pitch shifting and divebombs. The tremolo plate has been positioned closer to the bridge for enhanced sustain and string break angle. The neck angle has been adjusted to further improve neck pitch, stability and sustain. Furthermore a deluxe gigbag is included with the guitar, for peace of mind when storing away or carrying it from A to B.
Fender's Classic Player Jaguar Special, originally the black sheep of the Fender models before going on to earn prestige in its own right, has been updated for the modern day, and it sounds better than ever while maintaining the playability old-school Jaguar players will certainly have missed.
