Buck the norm with this Fender Duo-Sonic HS guitar. The Duo-Sonic HS takes one of Fender's classic 'alternative' guitars and loads it with a versatile humbucker / single coil pickup configuration and a host of modern appointments.
Launched in 1956, the Fender Duo-Sonic was an instant underground hit. This cool take on that guitar takes the core elements, with its downsized body and short 24" scale, and adds some tweaks that'll appeal to the modern player.
The Duo-Sonic HS features streamlined, compact body is great for players of a smaller frame or Fender fans after a shape away from the norm. The body is paired with an easy playing C shaped maple neck that is topped with a modern 9.5" radius fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets.
Tonal excitement and versatility comes via way of the humbucker / single coil pickup pairing. The single coil Duo-Sonic neck pickup is joined by a vintage-spec humbucker at the bridge. Flexibile tonal options are already a plenty with this pairing, but in addition, the humbucker can also be switched to single coil operation via way of the push/pull tone pot. Tonal uniqueness also comes courtesy of the short scale, adding warmth and thickness to its fundamental tone.
Other appointments include a six saddle string-through-body hardtail Strat bridge that not only increases sustain but also adds some additional zing and upper harmonics, and knurled flat-top control knobs.
