The Fender Mustang PJ Bass takes the classic short scale Fender bass and upgrades it for the modern bassist.
Originally launched in 1964, the Fender Mustang Bass has always been the bass that has appealed to players after something a little different, and with this latest iteration, the upgraded Mustang PJ Bass is sure to maintain its 'alternative' popularity.
The compact design of the Mustang PJ Bass, with its comfortable small body and nippy 30" scale will appeal to both players of a smaller frame, those who are put off by the normal longer 34" scale, and bassists who want the 'blooming' tone that only a short scale bass can produce!
This updated take on the Mustang Bass comes loaded with the classic pairing of a P Bass pickup (neck position) and Jazz Bass pickup (bridge position). Wired though a simple Volume and Control and 3-way pickup selector switch, the Mustang PJ is able to produce an array of vintage passive bass tones, from thick warm P 'plummy' tones to some grinding mid-range 'bark'.
Other appointments include the vintage-style Fender tuning machines and a four-saddle string through body bridge.
The Fender Mustang PJ is a classic bass guitar, upgraded with a host of appointments that allows for an easy playing experience with a flexible sound pallette.
