The Gretsch Electromatic G5622T Centre Block Double Cut is for those players who like their guitars live, loud and kicking! A cranked Gretsch at high volume is certainly something to behold, therefore with the G5622T Gretsch embraced this by creating a fresh faced model with a core centre block without losing focus on the aspects that matter most. That classic Gretsch sound, style and playability.
The re-imagined double cutaway body takes direct inspiration from its legendary big brother, the Country Gent, in shape and depth with a laminated Maple construction and retro aged white body binding. A centre running block is also present in this design so players can access enhanced sustain and play at high volumes or with aggressive drives without generating unplayable feedback.
Gretsch as always have taken great care to ensure that their instrument offers a superb playing experience. Firstly, the Gloss finished Maple neck used on this Electromatic G5622T model has been shaped to a standard "U" and topped with a Rosewood fingerboard which gives a more vintage feel and a dark yet superbly balanced tonal spectrum. Along with a shorter 24.6" scale length, 22 medium jumbo sized frets provide a comfortable middle ground in terms of feel while keeping any intricate picking or bends in check at all times.
At the business end of the instrument are a pair of Super Hilo'Tron humbucking pickups that not only nail that killer 50's Gretsch jangle and chime but also offer a more dynamic, bold quality that can pack a sonic hammer blow should you choose to unleash it. Featured controls remain familiar and versatile with individual volume knobs for each pickup, a master volume and 3 way toggle switch.
Gretsch guitars have always been renown for their classy looks and attention to detail. With the G5622T you have G-arrow chrome knobs, a super reliable anchored adjusto-matic bridge, vintage style open back tuners, a cream plexi pickguad with gold Gretsch logo, pearloid neo-classic thumbnail position inlays and white neck binding that give it that visual edge to make it stand out on stage.
