The Martin D28 has made a name for itself as the go-to premium instrument for casual home playing pleasures, beautiful studio recording sessions and was of course, ready born for the world stage.
There is a real reason why the likes of Hank Williams, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and countless more pro artists have chosen the D28 over the decades. If you want that unmistakable Martin tone...look no further.
As part of the Martin standard series the updated D28 has been tweaked with precision and care in the most tasteful fashion, still paying homage to every aspect of what makes a Martin a Martin.
Using the post WWII D-28 of the 50's and 60's as the foundation for this guitar's core design Martin have not only utilised the Solid Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood Back and Sides build but also authentically recreated every vintage appointment in great detail. As a result, the 2017 D28 features high performance open gear tuners, an aged toner top, antique white accents and a faux tortoise pickguard for a truly old school approach.
However, this reimagined Martin D28 model has some modern tricks hidden up it's sleeve. The 184 year old guitar maker is always innovating new ideas, techniques and technologies to get the best from their acoustic guitars and a great example of this is the updated neck profile found on this D28. Introduced for supreme comfort and playability like never before alongside an advanced forward-shifted bracing appointment which allows for greater vibration of the guitars top, resulting in beautiful resonance and sustain.
