This Taylor 714CE Electro Acoustic is the latest incarnation of the popular 700 Series guitar. It features the groundbreaking V-class bracing system, a solid Lutz Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides and the Taylor Expression ES2 system.
With its signature Grand Auditorium shape the Taylor 714CE is a guitar that'll appeal to the plectrum player as well as the gentle fingerstyle player. The solid Lutz Spruce top, in conjunction with the solid Indian rosewood back and sides, allows the 714CE to produce a powerful tone, with good amounts of projection, volume and fundamental tonal richness. The Venetian cutaway enables easy access to the upper frets. Added cosmetic charm comes courtesy of the koa body binding, weathered brown pickguard.
The V-Class bracing is an all new concept developed by master guitar designer Andy Powers of Taylor guitars from the ground up. This game changing advancement builds the internal framework of the 514ce and as a result dictates the way the guitars top vibrates, vastly improving the sound by remaining both stiff enough to offer great sustain but flexible enough to produce excellent volume. In addition, V-bracing allows the top to keep in tune with the vibrating strings, thus allowing notes and chords played anywhere on the neck to be more consistent and in tune with each other.
The 714ce utilizes a Tropical Mahogany neck that is topped with an Ebony fingerboard that hosts abalone Reflection inlays and features another leading acoustic guitar development as designed by Taylor - the NT Neck. The NT Neck is the most stable and easy to adjust neck in the industry - lending itself to a neck that will last a lifetime and is ultra playable.
Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics system powers the 714ce once amplification is required. At the heart of the system is Taylor's behind the saddle pickup, which features three uniquely placed pickup sensors that in conjunction Taylor's custom designed professional audio grade preamp conveys the voice of the acoustic guitar whilst capturing more of the guitar's dynamic properties. Controls couldn't be simpler - volume, bass and treble.
