The Fender Player II Jazz Bass is the latest incarnation of the ever popular bass guitar. With this latest Player II model, Fender have treated it to a selection of upgrades and refinements and added some great new colours, all designed to power your performance and inspire you to play!
Originally launched in the '60s, the Fender Jazz Bass is a true icon! It has been seen and heard on stages and albums the world over, and utilized by an array of legendary bass players including Jaco Pastorius, Larry Graham, Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee to name but few!
Fender have treated the Player II Jazz Bass to a pair Player Series Alnico V single coil pickups. Wired through a simple 3-way control section, with volumes for each pickup and a master tone control, you have instant access to all those classic Jazz Bass tones. Get warmth and punch from the neck pickup and growl, bark and mid honk from the bridge pickup, then combine the two via each pickups volume control for added tonal versatility.
Construction wise, the Fender Player II Jazz Bass features an alder body that is complimented with a classic style scratchplate. The satin urethane finished maple neck has a comfortable modern C shape profile and is topped with 9.5" radius fingerboard (either maple or rosewood - model dependant) with rolled edges, set with 20 medium jumbo frets - all making for a great playing experience.
Other features include the 4-saddle bridge and open-gear chrome tuners, for rock-solid tuning stability.
Thanks to its affordable price point the Fender Player II Jazz Bass opens the door for players to get some of that J Bass goodness, both in looks and sound, all without breaking the bank.
