Personalised multi-point setup included

Before dispatch, your instrument will be treated to a full setup. That's not a quick tweak, but a full multi-point setup by an experienced guitar technician who will check and adjust every single thing on your guitar, bass, ukulele or banjo to ensure it is performing at its absolute best.

This is not a quick process but we believe every instrument should go through our process to acheive an exacting standard of playability.

Frets

We start with the frets on your instrument. All guitar necks move and change over time so we will make sure that your frets are nice and flat as we go up the neck. We don't want any high or low spots as this will mean your guitar will need a higher than optimum action and potentially suffer with fret buzz.

We check and properly profile the playing surface of the frets and then make sure the fret ends are finished off properly. The fret is then polished to ensure smooth string bending.

Truss Rod

Then it's on to the truss rod. This metal rod differs from guitar to guitar (some guitars such as classical guitars don't usually have a truss rod!) and basically controls the "relief" or curve of the neck. Not enough relief and your strings won't have enough clearance over the other frets when playing. Too much relief and you'll have a high action which gets worse as you go up the neck.

The heavier the strings then the more the truss rod needs to work. Proper adjustment in the workshop means that the action will be just right for the strings fitted to your guitar.

Top Nut

The top nut is super important and is one of the two open contact points of your guitar. The technician will check and cut each slot to make sure the strings both run freely but are not sitting in a slot that's too big.

The top nut also plays a big part in the action of your guitar so we'll hit that sweet spot between too low and too high.

Saddle(s)

Another really important part of your guitar!

On an acoustic, the saddle is cut to the correct height making sure the bottom is 100% flat and straight. This means the string can transfer its vibration properly into the body of your guitar.

For electric guitars, the saddles are adjusted to ensure your intonation is perfect. We will also match the saddles to the radius of your fretboard.

Bridge / Tremolo

The bridge affects the break angle and string height of your guitar and is also responsible for holding your saddles.

For a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo system or similar, the spring tension has to be just right to allow the tremolo to return to its "zero point" and keep everything in tune.

For guitars with standard tremolos, we can set it to float and be used both up or down like a true tremolo or we can lock the trem block back so the tremolo will only go downwards.... the choice is yours!

Intonation

Intonation is the measure of how in-tune the guitar string is across the length of the fretboard and a guitar with badly set intonation will get more and more out of tune as the string is shortened when you play.

Tiny adjustments are made to each string where applicable to adjust its length and ensure that the intonation is set just right.

Overall Action

Once all the above has been completed, the guitar is checked for playability and fine adjustments are made. This step brings everything together and means your guitar will be set up optimally.

Machine Heads

Every machine head is operated and checked for function. We need to ensure that the machine heads operate smoothly.

Electrics

All the functions of your guitar are checked to ensure everything is working as intended.

For acoustic guitars we will check the functions of the EQ system and controls as weel as check the internal cabling and jack socket.

For electric guitars, all the pickups are checked for function and tonal response. All controls and switches are operated to ensure they are functioning properly. The jack socket is checked.

Other Parts

All other parts such as strap pins, bushings, tuning buttons etc are fully checked.

Dispatch

All our instruments get the same premium treatment wether you purchase online or instore.

If you have purchased online, your guitar will be carefully packed ready for dispatch. You will receive a tracking link via email.

Happy playing :)

Description

The Roland VAD507 delivers the commanding presence of a full acoustic drum set on stage—with the convenience and control of electronic drums. This premium five-piece kit features wood shells with full depth and diameter, covered with attractive wraps and mounted on double-braced chrome stands. Roland’s advanced digital sensor technology and dynamic TD-27 drum module provide the sound and response to match, with every stroke, ghost note, roll, and swell expressed in incredible detail.

Building on the previous VAD506 model, the VAD507 adds a digital hi-hat for even greater expression, plus heavy-duty cymbal stands inherited from the flagship VAD706. The TD-27 module has also been updated, bringing you new kits and samples, expanded processing options, and more.

With the impressive looks, familiar layout, and inspiring playability of a high-end acoustic kit, the VAD507 makes any drummer feel instantly at home. There’s a 14-inch stainless steel snare, plus 10-inch and 12-inch rack toms, a 14-inch floor tom, and a 20-inch kick constructed with full-depth wood shells, adding to the authenticity and providing genuine acoustic feel under the sticks and beater. A full complement of cymbals includes a 12-inch V-Hi-Hat, 14-inch and 16-inch crashes (both with thin profiles and textured finishes), and an 18-inch ride for superior playability and natural appearance on stage.

Roland’s groundbreaking digital pad technology is a major leap forward in electronic drumming, putting unmatched depth and dimension under your sticks. Precision multi-sensors in the snare, ride, and hi-hat pads work in harmony with the TD-27 module to capture every nuance with incredible definition and detail. Lightning-fast detection lets you play all your natural acoustic techniques, such as muting the ride with a finger touch or switching seamlessly between head, rimshot, and cross stick playing on the snare. And the VH-14D takes the electronic hi-hat to new heights with unparalleled touch sensitivity, tonal variation, and open/closed resolution.

Derived from the flagship TD-50X, the TD-27 sound module is filled with drums that live and breathe like acoustic instruments. We start by sampling the finest drums, percussion, and cymbals—both vintage and modern—in world-class recording studios. Roland’s unique Prismatic Sound Modeling is then applied to the samples, bringing them alive with proprietary behavior modeling refined over two decades. Every time you strike a drum or cymbal, you’re not simply triggering a canned sound—you’re playing a full-bodied instrument that responds like its acoustic counterpart in every way, putting unprecedented sonic range at your command.

The updated TD-27 module features 75 preset kits, including 10 all-new kits and newly enhanced versions of the three most popular kits from the original release. New pre-loaded samples are available for combining with preset kits or your own custom setups. Layering features have been expanded, while parallel compression options and transient shaping enhancements provide even greater sound control. The module interface has also been improved for faster sound creation.

The VAD507 comes equipped with the same heavy-duty stands as the flagship VAD706, delivering high-end performance and genuine acoustic feel. The tom pads mount just like acoustic toms—so they feel just right when they’re hit. Newly developed thin V-Cymbals attach with a special pivot mount for natural acoustic swing and stick feel. And every stand is double braced for rock-solid stability and easily adjusted to suit your preferred layout.

Built-in Bluetooth lets you wirelessly stream audio from a phone or laptop to the module—ideal for jamming with headphones. Play along with backing tracks and your favorite bands, or mix the sound from a YouTube lesson video with the kit. You can even record your performances—with or without backing—to hear where you need to tighten things up.

With its selection of upgrades, great playability and superb selection of sounds, the Roland VAD504 is a superb electronic drumkit that any drummer will appreciate!
