Originating from the unique high quality parts avalible from 1975 Electric Sound Products store in Tokyo, the ESP Guitar brand took to the rapidly growing Japanese guitar market. ESP Guitars soon attracted the attention of big name guitar players such as Ronnie Wood, Page Hamilton, Vernon Reid, Vinnie Vincent, Bruce Kulick and Akira Takasaki.
ESP replacement parts were first introduced into the US in 1983 and began crafting custom instruments for local New York artists between 1984 and 85. With growing demand they soon unveiled their first production line 400 series instruments for US distribution.
Today their products range from Japanese-built custom shop instruments to lower end affordable Korean, Indonesian and Chinese made instruments and as a result are one of the leading manufacturers of electric guitars and bass guitars in the USA and Japan.
