The Fender American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass presents an accurate take on the classic bass of the year. It features a period correct body, neck, and hardware, and hosts a meticulously voiced, single pickups to capture the essence of an iconic model in Fender's history.
When Don Randall at Fender Sales requested a more sophisticated, high-end bass model, the now iconic Jazz Bass was the result. The neck was narrower at the nut, providing a faster and more effortless feel and the sleek new body style mirrored the offset contoured style of the Jazzmaster. By 1966, evolution of the instrument reached new heights with striking new features.
Staying period correct, this '66 reissue features an alder body complete with a Gloss Nitrocellulose lacquer. The comfortable "U" shaped neck comes topped with a bound 7.25" radius, round-lam rosewood fingerboard set with 20 vintage tall frets and white pearloid dot inlays.
The bass comes loaded with a pair of Pure Vintage '66 single coil pickups wired through traditional volume, volume, tone controls, giving access to plenty of classic Jazz bass growl and that much loved vintage Fender bass tone.
Other appointments include a Pure Vintage 4-saddle bridge with threaded steel saddles, Pure Vintage lollipop tuners, and a 4-ply pickguard.
The bass comes complete vintage style black hard case with orange interior.
