Three new colours have been added to the ever popular Epiphone Les Paul Standard range - Metallic Gold, Cardinal Red and Pelham Blue in addition to the Ebony finish now make for a 4-way series.

There is not many guitartists, who at some point in their playing careers don't hanker after a Les Paul Standard. Now we all know and love the legend that is the Gibson Les Paul Standard but clearly, not everyone has the budget for one, so here we have the Epiphone 'licensed' equivalent in its cheaper form (a range of Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Pros are also available with tappable humbuckers and 'plus' tops).

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard manages to put iconic styling and that legendary tone into a guitar that really belies its modest price point. With the construction of a solid Mahogany body with a Maple veneer top, Mahogany neck and a pair of Alnico Humbuckers those sweet, thick singing lead tones, crunchy rhythms and heavy power chords are there in spades, whilst the body binding, pearloid trapezoid fingerboard inlays and the bound fingerboard add that required touch of cosmetic class.

Thanks to these new 2012 colours, those wanting to get away from the standard Ebony finish (not everyone wants a black guitar!) have the option to get a bit more daring!
