Join us for an evening dedicated to the rhythm section, as Ian Thomas, one of the UKs premier drummers is joined by bass player Laurence Cottle.
Ian Thomas started playing the drums at the age of 12 and with no real formal music education and no gig Ian moved to London in 1984 to pursue a career playing drums. It wasn’t long before it took off; he became the backbone to the NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra), which progressed to numerous jazz gigs.
Ian is renowned for having a versatile drumming style, for a wide range of musical genres and has established himself as one of the most in demand session drummers in the UK and the backbone of the rhythm section of many top acts. In the studio, working with artists such as Seal or producers like George Martin, working on TV themes, Jingles and Feature Films, including Sweet Home Alabama, Twilight and the Oscar-winning Leaving Las Vegas, to playing live with Tom Jones, Paul Mcartney, Sting, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Mick jagger, Bryan Ferry and Will Young to name but a few!
Ian will be accompanied on the night by top bass guitarist Laurence Cottle whos credits include Black Sabath, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Seal, James Taylor Quartet, Tony Iommi and many more!
