Dr Jim Marshall OBE, the founder of Marshall Amplification has died aged 88.

The legend that is Jim Marshall, who was nicknamed 'The Father of Loud' founded Marshall Amps 50 years ago and has since become one of the most recognisable and iconic amps in rock guitar history.

Jim created an instantly recognisable brand with Marshall, not only in looks but in sound - there is a reason why the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Slash and many more chose Marshall.

He will be remembered alongside the likes of Leo Fender and Les Paul as one of founding fathers of the modern electric guitar sound - he has shaped the sound of rock music for generations.
