Squier have just announced a new bass in the form of the legendary Telecaster...the new Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Bass. Available in 2 forms - the Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Bass features a single coil pickup with unique 3-way switching whilst the Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Bass Special features a combination of a wide range humbucker pickup with a jazz bass pickup.
Both basses feature a shorter 32" scale neck (the standard is 34"), making it not only ideal for bassists but maybe a good option for the guitarist who plays occasional bass too.
The Telecaster Bass features a powerful Duncan Designed single coil pickup that is complimented with a special 3 way switching system. The middle switch position delivers a modern bass sound (volume and tone controls), softer "double bass" sound is had with the switch in the neck position (volume control only) whilst an authentic tic-tac "baritone" sound can be had with the switch in the bridge position (volume control only).
The Telecaster Bass Special has a whole host of tones on hand thanks to the unique combination of a Fender designed wide range humbucker at the neck position and a Duncan Designed Jazz Bass single coil pickup at the bridge. The 3 way switch allows for each pickup to be used individually or combined.
