This Helix floor unit on a diet is smaller in size but not in nature. The power of HELIX just got more accessible!
Attention HELIX fans! Yes it is true that Line 6 have finally announced a new member of the HELIX family in the form of the Line 6 HELIX LT. This rig dictator could be the answer to many serial giggers prayers as the great thing about this new model is that it boasts a significantly smaller footprint.
This slim line, lightweight chassis contains every inch of performance, flexibility and (almost) the same level of supreme control that has made the HELIX such an all out, versatile tonal weapon on and off the stage.
How does the LT compare to it's bigger HELIX Floor brother?
Here are some of the key differences. Firstly the LT is made using a bent steel construction compared to the heavier solid extruded aluminium of the HELIX Floor, also the considerably larger chassis of HELIX floor means it offers three expression pedals compared to the LT's two. In addition to this the HELIX floor features a CV/Expression Output and has 10 effects switches compared to the 8 of the LT, however it is important to remember this does not effect the number of effects at your disposal.
Another major change in design is the fact that the LT doesn’t have any LCD screens below each stomp switch, even though it does still light up with a colour that corresponds to the effect for easy selection. It is also worth noting that the LT does lose two of the four send and returns available on the HELIX and can only accommodate two additional Bass/Guitar inputs compared to the HELIX's five. The LT does have two additional Line inputs out the possible four on the HELIX but does not feature the StageScape Mic Preamp that you would find in the HELIX.
Ok so of course shrinking the weight and dimensions has resulted in LINE 6 trimming a few extra bells and whistles from the specifications. However with the price difference considered and the LT's new sleek, lightweight footprint, this is a sacrifice most mortal gigging guitarists will be able to handle for sure.
